Patent Interferences

Attorneys at ASHE, P.C. are nationally recognized as specialists in patent interference proceedings, at times representing clients in 10% of all interference proceedings pending before the Board of Patent Appeals and Interferences.

Once declared, interference proceedings are procedurally intense: initial papers are ordinarily due within fourteen days of the declaration of interference and lists of intended motions are usually due within six weeks of the declaration of interference. ASHE, P.C. is well versed in the administrative rules and Standing Order governing interference proceedings, both of which have been substantially modified over the past two years. Recent statistics from the Board of Patent Appeals and Interferences reflect that the majority of interferences terminate within the first year of the proceeding.
